CloudERM

AI

AI in CloudERM, in plain English.

Cloud-native rental software has a habit of leading with AI for outbound sales — scrapers, BDR bots, generated cold emails. CloudERM doesn't. Our AI investment goes into the workflow your team already runs. Two things ship today: Inspection Analysis — AI review of completed inspections — and the CloudERM connector for Claude, which answers plain-English questions from your live data, read-only. Pricing, in-app search, and planning are on the roadmap. The status tag on each feature below says where it stands, so nothing here reads as more than it is.

Inspection Analysis

ShippingWeb app

Every photo checked. Every inspector graded.

An inspection record is only as good as its photos. Nobody at the office has time to look at every photo of every inspection, so a blurry hour meter or a "rear" photo of the front only turns up weeks later — in the middle of a damage dispute, when it's too late to retake it.

Inspection Analysis is an add-on that reviews each completed inspection within minutes of the crew finishing it (quick passes excepted). Every photo is checked against the question it answers and for quality. Multi-photo sets are checked for coverage. The asset number is looked for in the photos, and the hour-meter photo is read and compared with the reading the crew entered. On an off-rent inspection, the return photos are compared with the dispatch photos and any new damage is outlined on the before-and-after pair, with a confidence level. A comparison the model can't call is marked inconclusive, never clean.

Results land on the inspection's Analysis tab in the web app: an A–F grade and 0–100 score for how well the inspection was documented, with the machine's condition reported separately — so new damage never counts against the crew who found it. The Technician Report averages the findings per inspector, so you can see who documents well and who needs coaching. The model flags; it doesn't bill a customer, change a pass or fail, or edit a record. It is available for both CloudERM and InspectERM.

Claude connector

Ask Claude about your fleet.

Every rental desk has questions the canned reports don't quite answer: which rentals are overdue, what a customer owes, whether a particular boom lift is out and when it's due back. The answer is in the platform; getting it out usually means three searches and an export.

The CloudERM connector for Claude lets your team ask in plain English instead. Add CloudERM as a connector in Claude — on the web, the desktop and mobile apps, or Claude Code — sign in with your CloudERM login, and Claude can look up assets, customers, what's on rent, overdue or due back, rental and sale orders, open and overdue invoices, unbilled charges, and six reports including fleet utilization, average days to pay, and over credit limit. Every answer comes from your live data at the moment you ask.

It is read-only, and it signs in as you. Claude sees exactly what your CloudERM role allows in your own organization — never payment methods, card details, tax-exemption numbers, or contact notes — and it can't create, change or delete anything. Every lookup is logged. Changing your password, losing the "Connect AI Assistants" permission, or switching the add-on off disconnects it. The connector is a CloudERM add-on and works with Claude; other AI clients aren't supported yet.

Pricing

Coming soonWeb app

Suggested rates with sources shown.

Setting a new asset's rental rate today is a judgment call: a yard manager looks at age, brand, comparable assets, recent utilization, and the going regional rate, then picks a number. That number may live unchanged for years.

CloudERM's planned rate recommendations will factor in current utilization, asset age, accumulated maintenance cost, and comparable rates across the fleet — then suggest a per-asset daily / weekly / 4-weekly rate. The same recommendation will run for sale price. The operator will see what drove the recommendation — utilization trend, age penalty, maintenance burden — and decide whether to accept it. No black-box pricing; no "the algorithm says so."

Fleet planning

Coming soonWeb app

Forecast which categories will run hot.

Knowing on Monday morning which categories are going to be tight by Friday is the difference between an okay week and a stressful one. Legacy systems leave this to the yard manager's memory — patterns held informally, lost when staff turn over.

Demand prediction is planned to use historical utilization, seasonality, and the current reservation pipeline to forecast which categories will run hot a week and a month out. The manager would see which add-ons to stock; the dispatch team where to rebalance. Each forecast will come with the inputs it used — "loader demand 18% above seasonal baseline because of three large reservations on the books" — so the team can pressure-test the prediction before acting.

How we think about it

Our principles for AI in a rental platform.

AI for operations, not outbound spam.

Cloud-peer competitors built AI to send cold messages to your prospects — scraping building permits, automating BDR pipelines, generating sales emails. CloudERM's AI lives in the workflow your team already runs — inspections and plain-English questions through Claude today, with pricing, in-app search, and planning on the roadmap. We don't believe your prospects want a robot in their inbox; we don't ship one.

AI assists, doesn't replace.

Inspection Analysis flags photos and outlines possible damage; it never bills a customer, changes a pass or fail, or edits a record. The Claude connector is read-only: it answers, it doesn't act. The operator decides what a finding is worth. Everything on the roadmap follows the same rule: a rate recommendation will be a suggestion the manager accepts or overrides, and a forecast will inform the plan, not govern dispatch.

No black-box decisions.

Every Inspection Analysis finding comes with its evidence: the photo, the question it was checked against, the before-and-after pair with the damage outlined, the confidence level. The grade is the share of photos that passed — a number you could work out by hand. Where the model can't tell, it says inconclusive. You see what the model saw; you decide what to do.

Strengths across the platform, with the "AI for ops, not sales" trade-off in context.
